When we visited

The best time to visit Washington DC is during the spring (March to May) when the famous cherry blossoms bloom, transforming the city into a stunning pink paradise. Fall (September to November) is also a great time with pleasant weather, vibrant foliage, and fewer crowds. However, if you prefer milder temperatures and want to explore the museums and landmarks without the peak tourist season, consider visiting during the shoulder seasons of early summer (June) or late summer (August).

Packing Essentials

When packing for a trip to Washington DC, it's important to consider the season. In general, pack comfortable walking shoes, as you'll be exploring a lot on foot. Be prepared for varying weather conditions by bringing layers, including a light jacket or sweater for cooler evenings. Don't forget essentials like sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, and a small backpack or bag for carrying your belongings while sightseeing.
